The Magic of Connection: A Look Back at Our 18th Retreat

Between October 28th to 30th, we celebrated a major milestone: Or 18th Connected Retreat for parents of infants with severe disabilities, together with their infants. This retreat is truly one-of-a-kind; it is the only program in Israel—and possibly the world!—that’s created specifically for infants with severe medical issues, including those on ventilators.

As always, the 18th Connected Retreat included a full on-site senior medical team—including PICU nurses, paramedics, and medics—guaranteeing complete peace of mind for parents and medical staffs. Every detail of the Retreat was expertly arranged, from the safe, organized transportation of all participants, infant and adult, to delicious full-course meals and a riveting, engaging program that fused meaningful content, entertainment, and relaxation. While the infants were being devotedly cared for in a specialized, therapeutic playroom managed by our dedicated volunteers, their parents had access to a full schedule custom-created for them.

Connected Retreats are exceedingly precious to parents of children with disabilities, offering them much-needed rest, time together, practical resources, and empowering emotional support that lets them recharge their batteries and carry on in the sacred, yet challenging mission of raising their child.

Connected Chairman Meir Quinn shares his impressions of the recent Retreat:

“Even after hosting similar events eighteen times, the sheer magnitude of these Connected Retreats never fails to move me. It’s difficult to fully grasp, let alone express, the profound relief and comfort that parents garner during these few days. We’re constantly looking toward the future, and we’re already preparing for the upcoming retreat. I want to take this opportunity to thank our generous partners and donors from the bottom of my heart. Your commitment keeps us going and enables us to continue hosting these incredible retreats that grant joy and relief to so many special people who are facing immense challenges in life.”
